Carolina…

Lower Roanoke River At Roanoke Rapids affecting Northampton and
Halifax Counties.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Lower Roanoke River at Roanoke Rapids.

* WHEN…Until Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Farmlands and
timberlands adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.
Property on the farmlands may be at risk from floodwaters.
At 10.0 feet, The public boat ramp on Rockfish Ln in Weldon is
flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 8:15 PM EST Sunday the stage was 9.6 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:15 PM EST Sunday was 9.7 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Wednesday morning and continue falling to 8.4 feet
Friday evening.
– Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
11.6 feet on 09/12/1996.
