Halifax Counties.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Lower Roanoke River at Roanoke Rapids.

* WHEN…Until Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Farmlands and
timberlands adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.
Property on the farmlands may be at risk from floodwaters.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 8:45 AM EST Monday the stage was 9.7 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:45 AM EST Monday was 9.7 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Friday morning and continue falling to 8.0 feet
Saturday morning.
– Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
