Rip Current Statement issued February 23 at 8:53PM AST until February 24 at 6:00PM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT…For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves up to 10
feet and occasionally higher. For the High Rip Current Risk,
life-threatening rip currents in the surf zone.

* WHERE…Northern beaches of Puerto Rico, from Rincon to
Fajardo.

* WHEN…For the High Surf Advisory, until 6 AM AST Monday. For
the High Rip Current Risk, until 6 PM AST Monday.

* IMPACTS…High waves that can wash over jetties and sweep
people and pets onto jagged rocks. Rough surf may also knock
you down. Large breaking waves will result in localized beach
and dune structure erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.
Rip currents that can sweep even the best swimmers away from
shore into deeper water where it becomes difficult to return
to safety.
