* WHAT…Flooding caused by snowmelt is occurring.
* WHERE…A portion of north central Montana, including the
following counties, Blaine, Chouteau and Hill.
* WHEN…Until 600 PM MST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding from rises in small streams and creeks
draining from the Bears Paw Mountains. Minor flooding in low-lying
and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1135 AM MST, emergency management and gauge reports noted
snowmelt flooding in the advisory area. Minor flooding is
ongoing and expected to continue as a significant amount of
snow has yet to melt at elevations above 4500 feet in the
Bears Paw Mountains.
– This includes the following streams and drainages…Clear
Creek, Beaver Creek, Peoples Creek, Eagle Creek, Big Sandy
Creek, Box Elder Creek, and Birch Creek.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Havre, Chinook, Big Sandy, Harlem, Parker School, Agency,
Azure, Sangrey, St. Pierre, Boneau, Beaver Creek, Fort
Belknap, Box Elder, Hays, Lloyd, Cleveland, Lohman, Rocky
Boy, Zurich and Laredo.
– Some roads that are being impacted from flooding include, but
are not limited to Yantic.
