Carolina…

Lower Roanoke River At Roanoke Rapids affecting Halifax and
Northampton Counties.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Lower Roanoke River at Roanoke Rapids.

* WHEN…Until late Friday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Farmlands and
timberlands adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.
Property on the farmlands may be at risk from floodwaters.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 7:30 PM EST Tuesday the stage was 9.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to remain near 9.7 feet
through Thursday, then fall below flood stage late Thursday
evening.
– Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
