Meteorological Summary:
- Areas of patchy fog and low clouds throughout the state this morning will gradually lift and dissipate as the sun rises.
- Showers will continue this morning across Northeast Florida and portions of the East Coast through the early afternoon hours as yesterday’s disturbance moves away from the Southeast Florida coastline (25-55% chance of rain).
- The low pressure system will gradually pull away from the eastern coastline through today and towards the western Atlantic allowing high pressure to shift over the Southeast U.S.
- Drier conditions will gradually return across the state throughout the day as high pressure settles in.
- High temperatures will return to 70s across the state creating pleasant conditions this afternoon.
- Mostly calm and quiet conditions will return overnight throughout the state as high pressure settles in, and may allow instances of patchy to scattered fog by sunrise Wednesday morning (near 0% chance of rain).
- Instances of locally dense fog cannot be ruled out in some locations.
- Low temperatures will return to the middle to upper 40s across North Florida, lower to middle 50s across Central Florida and upper 50s to lower 60s across South Florida.
- A moderate risk for rip currents lingers for nearly all beaches statewide, with a high risk along portions of the Panhandle.
