Flood Warning issued February 27 at 4:08PM EST until February 28 at 5:30PM EST by NWS Binghamton NY

* WHAT…Flooding caused by an ice jam is occurring on Great Gully
Brook.

* WHERE…A portion of central New York, including the following
county, Cayuga.

* WHEN…Until 530 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of Great Gully Creek and roads nearby will
continue.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 400 PM EST, Local officials reported that the ice jam
continues and has gotten worse. The ice jam extends from the
walking bridge to the mouth of the lake. Flooding is already
occurring and mitigation is being attempted.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Great Gully Cove Road and Fire Lane 8.

The backcountry danger is CONSIDERABLE. * WHERE...For the mountains surrounding the Valdez and Thompson Pass area. * WHEN...In effect NOW through MONDAY 6:00 AM AKDT. * IMPACTS...Very large human triggered avalanches are likely at upper elevations. Clear weather will allow users to access areas where dangerous avalanche conditions exist.
