the following counties, in east central Nebraska, Butler. In
northeast Nebraska, Platte.
* WHEN…Until 900 AM CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. The formation
of an ice jam could result in sudden rises of water, leading to a
rapid flooding situation. Ice jams can cause water level
fluctuations of 1 to 3 feet over a very short time period and
without much notice.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 817 PM CST, emergency management reported an ice jam
remains in the Loup River near Columbus. Additionally, an ice
flow upstream may be moving into the area which could extend
minor flooding in the area. This could still impact areas
along Highway 30.
