Breezy north winds of 10 to 20 mph especially this morning, relative
humidities falling into the 15 to 25 percent this afternoon and
dry ambient fuels will lead to an increased fire danger for
portions of Eastern North Carolina. Multiple wildfires were
reported Saturday by the North Carolina and US Forest Service.
Outdoor burning is discouraged. Please refer to your local burn
permitting authority on whether you can burn. If you do burn, use
extreme caution and ensure fire suppression equipment is readily
available.
