7 inches possible except between 6 and 9 inches for northern and
east-central Ashland County and between 8 and 11 inches for
northern Iron County. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE…Ashland and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands
of the Bad River Reservation and the northwestern area of the Lac
du Flambeau Band. Other locations including Madeline Island.
* WHEN…From Tuesday evening through Wednesday early evening.
* IMPACTS…Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Downed tree branches and isolated power outages are
possible from strong northerly winds, especially along and near
Lake Superior shorelines.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A rain and snow mix is expected Tuesday
evening before transitioning over to all snowfall Tuesday late
evening to early overnight. The heaviest snowfall is forecast late
Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. The snowfall is expected
to taper in intensity and coverage Wednesday afternoon. The
strongest winds are forecast from after Midnight Tuesday night
through late morning Wednesday.
