Special Weather Statement issued March 3 at 9:18PM EST by NWS Columbia SC

The combination of dry fuels & low relative humidity continues to
raise concerns for dangerous fire behavior. Moisture will increase
across the region Tuesday but winds are expected to be gusty in
the afternoon, likely exceeding 20 mph in the southern Midlands
and CSRA. Due to increasing winds and ongoing fires, elevated
fire danger is expected to continue. The South Carolina Forestry
Commission has issued a burn ban because of this. The ban will
stay in effect until further notice, which will come in the form
of an official announcement from the Forestry Commission. Please
act with diligence to avoid wildfires occurring.

Widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected to
move across the state late Tuesday night through Wednesday
afternoon ahead of a strong cold front.
