High Surf Advisory issued March 5 at 3:32AM EST until March 6 at 12:00PM EST by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC

* WHAT…For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7
to 10 feet expected in the surf zone. For the Coastal Flood
Advisory, 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level
expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways.

* WHERE…Northern Outer Banks.

* WHEN…For the High Surf Advisory, from 11 AM this morning to
noon EST Thursday. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 1 PM
this afternoon to 1 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level
is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some
roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks,
lawns, and homes adjacent to the waterfront will experience
shallow flooding. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions
and localized beach erosion.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…This product has been issued for minor
sound-side flooding for areas vulnerable to southerly or
southwesterly winds. Ocean- side impacts are expected to be
limited to minor beach erosion and localized ocean over- wash.
There is potential for minor sound-side flooding when the winds
turn more westerly Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. Be
