.Ongoing rain transitions to snow from west to east tonight into
Wednesday morning, beginning around 11 PM at Rochester, MN and
around 5 AM at La Crosse, WI. The highest snowfall rates of 1 to 2
inches per hour will coincide with the transition. Winds increase
overnight, allowing for blizzard conditions to develop in areas west
of the Mississippi River. Expect impacts to travel during the
Wednesday morning commute.
* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and
8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE…Portions of southeast Minnesota and central, southwest,
and west central Wisconsin.
* WHEN…From 3 AM to 6 PM CST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening
commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
