Blizzard Warning issued March 5 at 6:36PM AKST until March 6 at 12:00PM AKST by NWS Fairbanks AK

* WHAT…Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations
of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph.

* WHERE…Bering Strait Coast and St Lawrence Island.

* WHEN…Until noon AKST Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility. The dangerously
cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite
on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Significant blowing and drifting snow as
well as whiteout conditions are expected or already occurring.
St. Lawrence Island conditions will deteriorate this
evening/overnight as falling snow commences.
