Coastal Flood Statement issued March 5 at 11:07AM EST until March 6 at 5:00AM EST by NWS Upton NY

* WHAT…Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level
expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.

* WHERE…In Connecticut, Southern Fairfield, Southern New
Haven, Southern Middlesex and Southern New London Counties. In
New York, Southern Westchester County.

* WHEN…Late tonight.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS…Brief minor flooding of the most
vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline due to
elevated water levels. Breaking waves of 3 to 5 ft during the
times of high tide may cause localized damage to dune structures
and wave splashover onto shoreline roads and properties.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…If heavy rainfall coincides during the time
of high tide, this would increase the potential for minor street
flooding in coastal areas.
