Rip Current Statement issued March 5 at 3:16PM EST until March 6 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Tampa Bay Ruskin FL

* WHAT…For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 2 to 9
feet expected in the surf zone.

* WHERE…Pinellas, Coastal Hillsborough, Coastal Manatee,
Coastal Sarasota, Coastal Charlotte and Coastal Lee Counties.

* WHEN…For the High Rip Current Risk, through Thursday
evening. For the High Surf Advisory, from 4 AM to 7 PM EST
Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
