…AVALANCHE WARNING FOR THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY…
*WHAT…Heavy snow and strong winds will result in very dangerous
avalanche conditions and HIGH (Level 4 of 5) avalanche danger.
*WHERE…Flat Tops, Grand Mesa, West Elk Mountains, and Elk
Mountains.
*WHEN…Very dangerous avalanche conditions begin Thursday night
lasting through Friday.
*IMPACTS…Large and dangerous avalanches will be very easy to
trigger in many places. Avalanches will run naturally overnight.
*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…Travel in backcountry avalanche
terrain is not recommended Friday. Avoid travel on and under slopes
steeper than about 30 degrees. You can find more detailed
