Fire Weather Watch issued March 7 at 2:57AM CST until March 8 at 8:00PM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

…BREEZY AND DRY BEHIND A COLD FRONT SATURDAY WILL RESULT IN
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS…

.A combination dryline and cold front will move through South-Central
Texas from west to east Saturday between midnight and noon. This
boundary will bring much drier air and breezy northwesterly winds.
Relative humidity will drop below 30% from the western Hill Country,
southern I-35 Corridor, and western Coastal Plains to the Rio
Grande. Most of this area will have RH less than 20%. Winds will be
15-20 mph with higher gusts during the afternoon and early evening.
This will result in the likelihood of critical fire weather
conditions. Critical conditions look likely west of I-10/I-37 and
possible east of there. At this time, the dry air doesn’t look
like it will make it to the eastern most part of the area, and RH
should stay above 30% in this area.

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a
Fire Weather Watch for low humidity and breezy winds, which is in
effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA…Val Verde, Edwards, Real, Kerr, Bandera,
Gillespie, Kendall, Blanco, Hays, Kinney, Uvalde, Medina, Bexar,

* TIMING…From Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* WINDS…Northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 12 percent.

* TEMPERATURES…Up to 82.

* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop may rapidly increase in size
and intensity, move quickly, and be very difficult to control.
