A change has been made to the incoming snow. The low in which this
snow is accompanied developed about 150 miles east of previous
guidance. It is still actively snowing in the SE Interior and
over the AK Range. The main band of snow stalled just south of
Fairbanks and moved east. Currently flurries are falling in
Fairbanks with light accumulations possible overnight expect up to 2
inches. East of town from North Pole south and east will see
greater total accumulations up to 4 inches.
1 to 4 inches of snow is still possible by Friday morning with the
greatest accumulations occuring further east of town.
There will be bands of heavier embedded snow, so there is a 10 %
probability to see higher snowfall totals of 3 to 5 inches.
*IF* we notice changes in snowfall totals, we will issue a winter
weather advisory as necessary.
