Winter Storm Watch issued March 6 at 3:43PM AKST until March 8 at 3:00PM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow. New snow accumulations of 2 to 4
inches atop already fallen transportable snow is possible.
Winds could gust as high as 60 mph with reduced visibility down
to one quarter mile or less.

* WHERE…Pribilof Islands.

* WHEN…From late Friday night through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A strong front is forecast to push across
the Bering and Pribilof Islands Friday night into Saturday with
potential winds gusting as high as 60 mph. Light to moderate
snow, as well as recent snowfall accumulations of 4 inches
already on the ground and snow drifts of up to one foot, may
supply enough transportable snow to significantly reduce
visibility down to one quarter mile or less. Uncertainty in the
forecast stems from what is expected to be a rapid warmup due to
strong southerly winds. Thus, conditions will become
increasingly less favorable for blowing snow through the day on
on Saturday.
