EARLY MONDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR
SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA…
.Critical fire weather conditions are expected across southwest
and south central North Dakota from late Monday morning through
early Monday evening. Daytime high temperatures are expected to
climb into the upper 50s to 60s on Monday, with afternoon
humidity levels dropping to around 20 to 30 percent over much of
southern North Dakota. A strong cold front will drop through the
forecast area Monday afternoon, shifting winds to the northwest.
This will result in a period of low humidities and very strong
winds. The combination of abundant dry and dead vegetation, low
humidities, and strong winds is expected to produce critical fire
weather conditions.
* WINDS…West 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 20 percent.
* AFFECTED AREA…Southwest and south central North Dakota
* IMPACTS…Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
