The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from Monday morning through Monday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA…In Minnesota, Clay, Hubbard, West Becker, East
Becker, Wilkin, West Otter Tail, East Otter Tail, Wadena and
Grant.
* WINDS…West 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. Strongest
winds in the Red River Valley late afternoon and evening.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…20 to 26 percent.
* IMPACTS…Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A cold front will move through the region,
shifting the wind direction from the west to north late in the
afternoon and evening. The strongest wind gusts will be
associated with this front.
