…CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA
MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING…
.A record warm airmass with highs in the low 70s, combined with
afternoon dew points dropping into the 20s, will lead to humidity
values falling to 15 to 25 percent by late afternoon. West winds
will increase through the afternoon with gusts up to 35 mph by
early evening. These conditions will lead to critical thresholds
being met.
The National Weather Service in Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued
a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 2 to 8 PM CDT this
evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* WIND…West increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35
mph.
* HUMIDITY…15 to 25 percent.
* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
