Winter Storm Warning issued March 11 at 1:49PM PDT until March 13 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Reno NV

* WHAT…Heavy Snow. For areas along the Sierra crest: snow
accumulations up to 2 to 3 feet with locally up to 4 feet possible
at the highest peaks. For the Sierra communities: snow
accumulations up to 8 to 18 inches. Ridge winds gusting as high as
110 mph. For Lake Tahoe: south-southwest winds 20 to 25 mph
gusting up to 45 mph with waves up to 2 to 4 feet.

* WHERE…Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN…From 11 PM this evening to 11 PM PDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday and Thursday AM
and PM commutes. Strong winds could cause damage to trees and
power lines as well as blowing snow that could cause near whiteout
conditions.
