The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 9 PM CDT
this evening. A Red Flag Warning has also been issued from 9 AM
to 10 PM CDT Friday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in
effect.
* Timing…For the Red Flag Warning today, from 1 PM this
afternoon to 9 PM CDT this evening. For the Red Flag Warning on
Friday, from 9 AM to 10 PM CDT Friday.
* Wind…For today, west at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
For Friday, west at 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph.
* Humidity…For today, as low as 10 percent. For Friday, as low
as 8 percent.
* Fuels…Critically dry.
* Impacts…Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is discouraged.
