* WHAT…Large breaking waves of 8 to 11 feet and dangerous rip
currents.
* WHERE…For the High Surf Advisory, north facing reefs of the
Marianas. For the High Rip Risk, north and east facing reefs.
* WHEN…Until 4 PM ChST Saturday.
* IMPACTS…Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized
beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A long-period north-northeast swell, in
combination with the northeast trade swell, is generating hazardous
surf along north facing reefs and a high risk of rip currents along
north and east facing reefs. Surf is expected to fall below
hazardous levels of 9 feet on Saturday, as the swell energy
dissipates and seas decrease.
