High Wind Warning issued March 14 at 9:41AM MDT until March 14 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Goodland KS

* WHAT…Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph
expected.

* WHERE…Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, northwest
and west central Kansas, and southwest Nebraska.

* WHEN…Until 8 PM MDT /9 PM CDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS…High winds may move loose debris, damage property and
cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for
high profile vehicles. Plumes of blowing dust will create pockets
of low visibility. Visibilities will likely change rapidly over
short distances, making travel hazardous in these areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Blowing dust dropping visibility from 1-3
miles is possible from the late morning through the afternoon
hours as the winds increase. There is also the low possibility of
a wall of dust developing ahead of the forecasted rain that would
lead to brownout conditions. The winds may
also lead to re-ignition of any burns over the past few days. Ensure
any previous burns are fully extinguished. Showers are also
forecast to develop during the afternoon hours across the area
which may lead to even stronger winds reaching the surface.
