…Critical Fire Weather Conditions this Afternoon and Early
Evening over much of Southern, Central, and Eastern Iowa…

.Very warm conditions with near record highs, strong and gusty
south to southeast winds, and drier air coupled with dry fuels
will create critical fire weather conditions by this afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA…Much of southern, central, and eastern Iowa

* WIND…Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 50
mph will be common.

* HUMIDITY…As low as 28 to 38 percent.

* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
