Special Weather Statement issued March 13 at 1:44PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK

East winds increase late this afternoon into the 30 mph range,
with gusts to 45 to near 50 mph developing tonight and early
Friday. The strongest winds will be across Prudhoe Bay. Lack of
transportable snowfall, due to recent dry weather and wind, will
likely inhibit significant visibility reductions in blowing snow.
However, a large open lead in the ice from Kaktovik to Mackenzie
Bay will support the potential for ocean-effect snow showers and
brief snow squalls along the coast, with brief periods of
visibility reduced to one half mile or less at times in snow
squalls.

There is a 30 to 50 % probability that visibility remains below a
half mile or less for sustained periods. Should this occur, a
winter weather advisory for blowing snow will be issued.
