Winter Weather Advisory issued March 14 at 2:30AM PDT until March 14 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Reno NV

* WHAT…Snow. Below 6000 feet snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches.
Above 6000 feet snow accumulations of 10 to 15 inches with locally
higher amounts up to 18 inches along the Sierra crest. For the
eastern shore of Tahoe: snow accumulations 2 to 6 inches. Ridge
winds gusting as high as 60 mph. For Lake Tahoe: southwest winds
15 to 25 mph gusting up to 40 mph with waves 2 to 3 feet.

* WHERE…Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN…Until 11 PM PDT this evening.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult at times. The hazardous
conditions could impact the peak commutes through Friday evening.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result
from gusty winds.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The heaviest snowfall is expected between 10
AM and 5 PM. This will affect the afternoon and evening commute
across mountain passes.
