…Critical Fire Weather Conditions Expected Area-Wide Today…

The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening.

The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* WINDS…North 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Wind speeds
will drop off in the early evening hours.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…Ranging from 12 to 22 percent.

* IMPACTS…Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Despite parts of the area just receiving
some light precipitation, the combination of strong winds and
low relative humidity will dry out dormant grasses very quickly.
