.The combination of northerly winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph
range and minimum relative humidity around 14 percent will create
critical fire weather conditions in the warning area. All outdoor
burning should be avoided.
The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from noon MDT /1 PM CDT/ today to 7 PM MDT /8 PM CDT/ this
evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zones 003 Decatur, 004 Norton,
015 Sheridan, 016 Graham, 027 Wallace, 028 Logan, 029 Gove,
041 Greeley, 042 Wichita and 081 Red Willow.
* TIMING…From noon MDT /1 PM CDT/ today to 7 PM MDT /8 PM CDT/
this evening.
* WINDS…North 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 14 percent.
* TEMPERATURES…Around 55 degrees.
* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
