Flood Advisory issued March 16 at 3:40AM EDT until March 16 at 6:00AM EDT by NWS Jackson KY

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Portions of east central, south central, and southeast
Kentucky, including the following counties, in east central
Kentucky, Estill. In south central Kentucky, Laurel, Pulaski and
Rockcastle. In southeast Kentucky, Clay, Jackson, Lee and Owsley.

* WHEN…Until 600 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 337 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that moderate rain
continues to fall across the area. Rainfall amounts have
ranged from 1.5 to 2.5 inches since Saturday morning. Up to
an additional half inch of rain is expected to fall through 6
am. Excessive runoff will lead to minor flooding of small
creeks and streams, roads, and roadside culverts.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Irvine, Mount Vernon, Beattyville, McKee, Booneville, Boone,
Fincastle, Science Hill, Ravenna, Hurley, Shop Branch,
Waneta, Collingsworth, Sandgap, Loam, Dango, Eglon,
Middlefork, Dabolt and Bradshaw.
