High Wind Warning issued March 16 at 2:05AM PDT until March 16 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Reno NV

* WHAT…Southwest winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. Wind
prone areas may see gusts exceeding 70 mph. Over Pyramid Lake
winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph and wave heights 3 to 6
feet.

* WHERE…In California, Surprise Valley California. In Nevada,
Northern Washoe County, Western Nevada Basin and Range including
Pyramid Lake, and Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden Area.

* WHEN…From 11 AM this morning to 11 PM PDT this evening.

* IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. Reduced visibility is also
possible due to blowing dust especially near deserts, playas, and
sinks. Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to
capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions
improve.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Winds may knock down burned trees in the
Davis Fire burn area.
