.Critical fire weather conditions are likely across much of the
western South Dakota plains today. Southwesterly winds will bring
dry and warm air into the region. Afternoon relative humidities
will drop to 15 to 20 percent with wind gusts of 25 to 30 mph (far
southwestern South Dakota could see wind gusts of up to 45 mph).
The combination of dry fuels, breezy winds, and low humidities
will support the development of critical fire weather conditions
this afternoon.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Red Flag
Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from noon today to 7 PM MDT this evening. The Fire Weather
Watch is no longer in effect.

322 Fall River County Area, 323 Northern Foot Hills, 324
Eastern Foot Hills, 325 Custer County Plains, 326 Pine Ridge

Ziebach County, 331 Haakon County Area, 332 Badlands Area and
333 Bennett County Area.
* WINDS…Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Gusts of
up to 45 mph are possible across far southwestern South Dakota.
