…ACCUMULATING SNOW FOR KETCHIKAN AND METLAKATLA…

.A band of snow showers continues to lie over the southern
panhandle affecting the Ketchikan and Annette Island areas.
Snowfall of over 7 inches was reported as of 110 pm in Metlakatla
and 2 to 6 inches across Ketchikan. Expect snowfall to continue
through the night. The band will shift south and east through
Sunday morning.

* WHAT…Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6
inches.

* WHERE…Ketchikan Gateway Borough and Annette Island.

* WHEN…Until 6 AM AKDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Plan on difficult travel conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Heaviest rates are expected through
Saturday evening, however as the band wavers accumulations will
vary across short distances.

A low-amplitude west/southwesterly mid/upper flow pattern will prevail Days 4-6/Tue-Thu. South/southeasterly low-level flow across the western Gulf into the southern Plains will allow for northward moisture transport and daily diurnal destabilization.
