.A strong low pressure center moving across the area today and
tomorrow will bring gusty southwesterly winds ahead of and even
stronger northerly gusty winds behind its track. Very dry
conditions ahead of the system mixed with gusty winds will cause
periods of critical fire weather conditions for mainly parts of
south central Nebraska today and mainly parts of north central
Kansas tomorrow.
The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* WINDS…Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 12 percent.
* IMPACTS…Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
