Flood Warning issued March 17 at 6:44AM EDT until March 18 at 6:30AM EDT by NWS Buffalo NY

* WHAT…River flooding along the Beaver River from rainfall and
rapid snowmelt.

* WHERE…A portion of central New York, including along the Beaver
River in the following county, Lewis.

* WHEN…Until 630 AM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Water levels will continue to rise today and result in
increasing flooding in low lying areas along the Beaver River,
from Croghan downstream through Beaver Falls to the confluence
with the Black River. Rising water levels may result in flooding
to several homes on the island in Croghan. Farmland will likely
flood along the lower reaches of the Beaver River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 635 AM EDT, Gauge reports indicated rising water levels
along the Beaver River in Croghan due to rain and rapid
snowmelt. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in
the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain have
fallen, along with significant snowmelt.
– Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.

Croghan and Beaver Falls.
