Gusty winds and a dry airmass will combine with dry grasses and
other fine fuels to create elevated to near critical fire weather
conditions today. The most significant conditions will occur along
and west of a line from Janesville to Green Lake during the late
morning and afternoon hours, where humidity values will fall to
near 25 percent, with south winds gusting 30 to 40 MPH.
Fires will very easily start and rapidly spread due to these
weather conditions. Use extreme caution if working outdoors with
any sources of spark or open flame, and strongly consider
postponing any planned open burning until a more favorable weather
day.
