…ACCUMULATING SNOW FOR YAKUTAT TONIGHT…
.A weak low over Prince William Sound have brought a front into
the Yakutat area this evening. Cold temperatures at the surface
combined with dry air near the surface have allowed for more
cooling to occur as the snow falls through the dry air. Periods of
heavier snow showers with snowfall rates up to 1″ per hour will
be possible along the coast late Sunday night through early
Monday, with heaviest rates expected between 12am to 8am Monday.
The heavier snowfall will continue through Monday morning before
tapering off into Monday afternoon.
