EAST OF I-25 DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY…

…FIRE WEATHER WATCH THURSDAY 11 AM TO 9 PM MDT FOR ALL OF
EASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY…

.Critical fire weather conditions will return today. West wind
gusts this afternoon will peak up to 75 mph with another round of
critically low humidities. Cooler but still above average
temperatures across the eastern plains are expected. Gusty winds
up to 45 mph with critically low humidities for areas east of the
central mountain chain will return on Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire
Weather Watch…which is in effect from Thursday morning through
Thursday evening.

* AREA AND TIMING…Northeast and Central Highlands (Zones 123 and
125), Northeast and East Central Plains (Zones 104 and 126) for
today between 10 AM and 8 PM MDT and then again Thursday late
morning through mid evening.

* 20 FOOT WINDS…West 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph for
today. Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph for
Thursday.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…8 to 18 percent today. 7 to 12 percent on
Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly
and will be hard to control. Long range spotting and extreme
fire behavior will be possible. Outdoor burning is not
recommended.
