The following message is transmitted at the request of Flathead Avalanche
Center Hungry Horse MT.

…AVALANCHE WARNING ISSUED BY THE FLATHEAD AVALANCHE CENTER…

07:00 MDT Sat Mar 22 2025
The Flathead Avalanche Center in Hungry Horse has issued a BACKCOUNTRY
AVALANCHE WARNING for the following areas:

NWS Missoula MT –
MTZ002 (MTZ002)

* WHAT…Heavy snowfall and wind have caused dangerous avalanche conditions.

* WHERE…Above 6500 feet in the Swan and Flathead Ranges as well as Glacier
National Park. The hazard is greatest on wind-affected slopes.

* WHEN…In effect from Sat 07:00 MDT to Sun 07:00 MST.

* IMPACTS…Backcountry travelers are very likely to trigger slab and loose
snow avalanches. Natural avalanches are likely.

* PRECAUTIONARY / PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…Dangerous avalanche conditions.
Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended. This includes runouts of
steep slopes at middle and upper elevations.

Similar avalanche danger may exist at locations outside the coverage area of
this or any avalanche center.
