Meteorological Summary:
- Mostly dry conditions persist statewide today (near 0-5% chance of rain).
- Isolated showers possible along the East Coast and across South Florida and the Keys (5-20% chance of rain).
- High temperatures in the middle 70s to middle 80s with portions of the Western Peninsula approaching the upper 80s.
- Breezy winds near 10-15 mph with gusts near 15-30 mphstatewide today, remaining near 5-15 mph with gusts upwards of 10-25 mph
- Lingering dry air will continue to create sensitive to elevated wildfire conditions across much of the state this afternoon.
- The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is outlooking an Elevated Threat (level 1 of 3) for Fire Weatheralong West-Central Florida today as winds increase over areas with low relative humidity values (30-45%) and very dry fuels.
- Red Flag Warningsissued across West-Central Florida from 12 PM EDT this afternoon until 7 PM EDT this evening as critically low humidity with gusty winds will result in elevated fire danger, allowing any fire that develops to catch and spread quickly.
- Hazardous beach and boating conditionsand elevated surf to develop statewide today and tonight.
- Moderate to high risk for rip currentsalong the Florida Panhandle and East Coast.
- Low temperatures in the upper 50s to middle 60s across North Florida, middle to upper 60s across Central Florida, upper 60s to low 70s across South Florida, and low to middle 70s along the Keys.
