Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report for Sunday, March 30th, 2025.

Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 2
Meteorological Summary:
  • An active weather day can be expected across the Sunshine State throughout the day as deep moisture will continue to be pulled northward from the gulf waters with the help of a warm front also moving northward across the Florida Peninsula.
  • Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop throughout North Florida with the help of daytime heating and an upper-level feature moving over head (35-60% chance of rain).
    • The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is outlooking a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for Severe Weather along the western Panhandle as a round of showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing strong to severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening hours.
  • The sea breeze this afternoon will push inland and across the peninsula before colliding across the interior regions and west of the I-95 corridor, allowing for additional scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening (45-80% chance of rain).
    • The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is outlooking a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for Severe Weather along the eastern Peninsula, from the I-95 corridor and eastward, as strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible during the late afternoon and evening hours.
  • Plenty of available moisture nearly statewide will allow for showers and thunderstorms to produce locally heavy downpours that could lead to instances of localized flash flooding and ponding of water – Marginal Risk (level 1 of 4) for Flash Flooding.
  • Showers and thunderstorms will generally linger through the evening and early overnight hours before pushing offshore and dissipating; however, a few showers may linger overnight.
  • As calmer conditions return late overnight and into the early morning hours, instances of patchy to locally dense fog will be possible throughout the state by sunrise Monday morning.
  • High temperatures will reach the middle to upper 70s to lower to middle 80s this afternoon and low temperatures will fall into the middle to upper 60s to lower 70s overnight.
  • A high risk for rip currents can be expected across Panhandle and East Coast beaches due to onshore winds and elevated surf of 2-5′.
