Very dry and windy conditions are forecast this afternoon,
leading to numerous hours of critical fire weather conditions and
extreme values of the Grassland Fire Danger Index. Winds are
forecast to be from the southwest for much of the day before a
shift to the northwest is forecast during the late afternoon as a
cold front moves into the area. Blowing dust may reduce
visibilities down to a mile or less at time is possible in the
Watched areas, which may create delayed response times of first
responders.
