A wintry mix of rain, snow, freezing drizzle, and fog continues
along the Bering Sea Coast. Accumulating wet snow is expected at
times, but accumulations will be light away from the Nulato Hills
and higher elevations on the Seward Peninsula. However, with
temps hovering around freezing, the potential for slushy and icy
conditions continues through Wednesday when temperatures cool
below freezing.
Expect:
– A light glaze of ice and periods of thawing and refreezing at
night.
– 2 to 4 inches of additional wet snowfall through Wednesday with
higher amounts of 4 to 8 inches at higher elevation locations
including the Nulato Hills and Kigluaik and Bendeleben
Mountains.
– Blustery southwest winds gusting up to 40 mph this evening,
weakening overnight, and then increasing again Tuesday night and
Wednesday with gusts as high as 50 mph.
– Snow squalls and patchy blowing snow is possible on Wednesday.
