…Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Illinois…

Little Wabash River at Carmi affecting White, Gallatin and Wayne
Counties.

Skillet Fork River at Wayne City affecting White and Wayne
Counties.

.A multi-day heavy rain is headed toward the region beginning later
today and lasting through Saturday. Three days of rainfall is
incorporated into the forecast but it still does not include the
entire event. The Little Wabash and Skillet Fork Rivers will start
to rise later this week and increases in crest forecasts can be
expected. Now is the time to prepare for flooding.

* WHAT…Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Little Wabash River at Carmi.

* WHEN…From Friday morning until further notice.

* IMPACTS…At 35.5 feet, Businesses just downstream of IL Route 14
and Route 1 in Carmi flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 16.8 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
Friday morning and continue rising to 35.1 feet early Tuesday
morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
– Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
