– Showers and thunderstorms will increase this afternoon and
tonight across portions of extreme Northeast Texas, Southeast
Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas, near and just ahead of a
weak surface front that will become stationary across the
area tonight. This boundary will linger over the area through
Saturday, focusing periods of showers and thunderstorms
containing locally heavy rainfall over much of the Watch
area. Widespread rainfall amounts of four to in excess of
eight inches are expected through Saturday night, which will
likely result in flash flooding.
