including the following counties, in central West Virginia,
Braxton, Calhoun, Clay, Gilmer, Jackson, Nicholas and Roane. In
northern West Virginia, Lewis. In southern West Virginia, Kanawha
and Putnam.
* WHEN…Until 400 PM EDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and
flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue
to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 957 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated light to occasionally
moderate rain falling. Flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly in the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.25
inches of rain has fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Nitro, Spencer, Winfield, Sutton, St. Albans, Dunbar,
Sissonville, Clendenin, Gassaway, Pratt, Wallback and Big
Otter.
