precipitation for the next 24 hours.

* WHAT…Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Kaskaskia River at New Athens.

* WHEN…From late tonight to Saturday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– There is no current observed data.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tonight to a crest of 85.0 feet early Tuesday afternoon.
It will then fall below flood stage Saturday, April 12.
– Flood stage is 79.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
85.5 feet on 01/15/2020.
